Hollywood remembers Quincy Jones

Quincy Jones, a powerhouse within the music industry, passed away Sunday surrounded by his family at his home in Bel Air.

Now, some of Hollywood's biggest names are paying tribute to him for his mark on their careers and the business as a whole.

"Nobody had a career as incredible as Quincy Jones. He played with the best and he produced the best. What a guy. Loved him," wrote Elton John on Instagram. "Together at our @ejaf Oscar Viewing Party. Always a loyal supporter of this important fundraiser."

Canadian singer The Weeknd posted a photo of him with Jones with the caption "The reason. Thank you for everything, Mr. Quincy Jones."

Will Smith paid homage to the "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" executive producer with a heartwarming post on Instagram.

"Quincy Jones is the true definition of a Mentor, a Father and a Friend. He pointed me toward the greatest parts of myself," wrote the Oscar winner. "He defended me. He nurtured me. He encouraged me. He inspired me. He checked me when he needed to. He let me use his wings until mine were strong enough to fly."

Compton native and hip-hop legend Dr. Dre revealed that Jones is the reason he became a producer.

"His records were my go-to when I started engineering," Dre posted on Instagram. "All of the time that I spent hanging out with him was priceless and I love how open he was- the advice he gave me, the conversations we had have helped me in my life and career. Forever inspired by the incomparable Quincy Jones."

"I woke up today to the Terrible news that we lost Quincy Jones," wrote rapper and actor Ice T to X. "Genius is a description loosely used but rarely deserved. Point blank, Quincy was the MAN. I won my 1st Grammy with Quincy and I live with his wisdom daily. My condolences go out to his family who I had the honor of meeting. This one Hit me. God bless you KING."

Fellow producer Nile Rodgers wrote "Rest in Power" to X.

R&B singer Victoria Monét posted to X, that Jones was one of her "biggest inspirations."

"Quincy I love you so much!!! Your legacy will live on forever and ever," she continued. "Heaven definitely got an upgrade with you."

LL Cool J called Jones " a father and example" at a time when he "truly needed a father and example."

"Mentor. Role model. King. 👑You gave me opportunities and shared wisdom. Music would not be music without you. My condolences to the entire family. I love you. Rest in the sweetest music eternally. #ripquincyjones one of one."

Actor Michael Caine called Jones his "celestial twin" in his tribute to X.

"Quincy was a titan in the musical world. He was a wonderful and unique human being, lucky to have known him."

Jones was 91 years old.
