Freddie Lee Trone, the man convicted of murdering rap artist PnB Rock at a Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles restaurant in 2022, will likely spend the rest of his life in prison.

Trone was found guilty on all charges last month in connection with the Sept. 12, 2022, shooting at the Roscoe’s on Manchester Avenue in South Los Angeles.

The charges against Trone included felony murder, robbery and conspiracy.

A co-defendant, Tremont Jones, was also found guilty of robbery and conspiracy, but not murder. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Prosecutors alleged that Trone sent his teenage son to rob and kill PnB Rock, whose real name was Rakim Allen. The older Trone was said to be the one who orchestrated the deadly robbery and was his son’s getaway driver.

The younger Trone is charged with first-degree murder and is being tried in juvenile court, as he was 17 at the time of the shooting.

According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, a third defendant, Shauntrel Trone, pleaded no contest to accessory after the fact in July. Her sentencing is set for Jan. 16, 2025.
