Benjamin Glaze, a former "American Idol" contestant, was arrested in Tulsa, Oklahoma, last week after authorities say they found hundreds of images and videos of child pornography on a smartphone in his home.
The Tulsa Police Sexual Predator/Digital Evidence Recovery Unit says it received a tip about Glaze, 26, back in April 2024, claiming that he was in possession of child porn.
While executing a search warrant on Glaze's home, investigators reported finding over 700 images and videos of child sexual abuse material on a smartphone.
Glaze was arrested on Friday and booked into the Tulsa County Jail on a felony charge of aggravated possession of child sexual abuse material. He has since been released from jail after posting a $50,000 bond, according to court records.
Glaze auditioned for "American Idol" in March 2018 and while he didn't secure his ticket to Hollywood, he did go viral after being kissed by show judge and pop star Katy Perry.
While speaking with the New York Times after his audition aired, Glaze said he "was a tad bit uncomfortable" during the moment, noting that it was the first time he had been kissed.
