Tributes have been pouring in nonstop following the passing of former One Direction member Liam Payne.
"Good grief.. what a shocking tragedy," wrote Piers Morgan on X, formerly Twitter.
Singer Charlie Puth took to his Instagram stories to pay homage to the singer. Puth collaborated on Payne's 2017 single "Bedroom Floor."
"I am in shock right now, Liam was always so kind to me," he wrote. "He was one of the first major artists I got to work with. I can not believe he is gone."
"I am so upset right now. May he rest in peace," Puth continued. "I am so sorry."
Paris Hilton said it was "so upsetting to hear the news of Liam Payne's passing." She continued her post on X saying that she is "sending love and condolences to his family & loved ones. RIP my friend."
"RIP Liam... I can't believe this is real," wrote Zedd on X. "Absolutely heartbreaking."
The Backstreet Boys took to social media as well to honor Payne.
"Words can not express the emotions we are collectively feeling right now, and it seems like the rest of the world is in the same boat. Our hearts go out to Liam’s family, friends, and Directioners around the world. Rest in peace brother," the band wrote.
Liam Gallagher of Oasis wrote on X that "life is precious kids and you only get to do it ONCE go easy."
While Payne's One Direction bandmates haven't publicly made a statement, his mother, Anne Twist, posted a photo of a broken heart on Instagram, writing simply "just a boy" alongside a broken heart emoji.
Rita Ora, who collaborated with Payne on "For You (Fifty Shades Freed)" wrote a heartfelt note to Instagram.
"I’m devastated. He had the kindest soul, I will never forget," she wrote alongside a photo of them in the studio. "I loved working with him so much - he was just such a joy to be around on and off stage. This tragic news breaks my heart. Sending all my love and prayers to his family and loved ones. Our song For You takes on a whole new meaning for me now. R.I.P."
He passed away on Wednesday after falling from a third-floor hotel balcony at the Casa Sur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The city's emergency services chief Alberto Crescenti told La Nación the singer suffered from “serious injuries” that were untreatable once responders arrived at the scene, according to E! News.
Payne leaves behind his 7-year-old son, Bear.
