Actress and comedian Brittany Furlan, the wife of Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, rescued her dog from the grasp of a coyote in a terrifying incident captured on Ring security video.
Furlan posted video of the attack, which she says occurred at 1 p.m. Tuesday, on her Instagram page.
It shows the coyote charging at two dogs in the backyard of her Woodland Hills, California home and running off with Neena, her mini longhair English cream dachshund.
Furlan saw the attack and ran after the coyote, screaming hysterically.
“I climbed up the wall and grabbed her out of its mouth,” she posted. “Thank God she’s a little bit fat, because he couldn’t make it over the wall with her.”
Her husband, Tommy Lee, briefly appears in the video as Furlan carries Neena inside.
“We can’t leave the dogs out,” she tells him.
Furlan said Neena was “safe" and was not found with any major puncture wounds.
“[The coyotes] are getting more brazen and hungry. Please be safe. I’m not even letting the dogs out anymore. This is ridiculous. Hug your babies extra tight,” she shared.
Coyotes are a common sight on the west side of Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley, where Woodland Hills is located. Attacks on humans are extremely rare. However, small dogs are frequently targeted.
Furlan, 38, amassed a huge following on Vine in the mid-2010s and parlayed her success to TikTok and Instagram, where she has more than two million followers on each platform. She and Lee married in 2019.
