Thursday was a big day for heartthrob Chris Hemsworth.
The "Thor" actor received the 2,781st star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
He's the latest Marvel superhero to receive the honor, joining many of his costars like Robert Downey Jr., Samuel L. Jackson and Scarlett Johansson.
Downey and filmmaker George Miller made speeches in honor of Hemsworth on his big day.
"Beyond the cape and the hammer is a contagious Aussie charm. You are a remarkable human being," the "Iron Man" actor said. "Chris is very daunting to describe. He's very elusive because of the pretty packaging; however, upon further inspection, down under, he has a true blue wit and he has a depth of soul, and it has been my sincere pleasure to know you these many years. You keep us Hollywood folk on our toes because you're just a real dude."
The actor couldn't leave the podium without roasting Hemsworth with the help of some of his "Avengers" costars. He asked them to provide three words to describe the "Extraction" actor.
"First off, (Jeremy) Renner says 'absurdly annoyingly amazing.' (Mark) Ruffalo came in strong with 'friend from work.' Scarlett (Johansson) got to the heart of it saying 'sensitive leading lady.' Captain America calls him 'second best Chris.'"
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce also declared Thursday Chris Hemsworth Day in Hollywood.
The man of the hour didn't hold back his gratitude for the distinction.
"I, like many actors, on my way to an audition would drive through this section here of Hollywood Boulevard and see the billboards of films that I wished I was a part of, of films that were inspiring me, the stars on the sidewalk here and sort of ask myself or wonder 'Wow, one day,' or 'What if?' or 'What would that be like?" Hemsworth explained while accepting the star.
"It's kind of a dream-state quality to it, I feel like I'm about to wake up in some way and it's just not real, it's all something I've imagined," he continued. "To be here in reality I feel a wonderful profound sense of gratitude."
Hemsworth thanked his friends and family for their support over the years.
He then thanked his "beautiful wife," Elsa Pataky, for being by his side and for being "endlessly encouraging and supportive."
"It wasn't lost upon me that she put aside her own dreams in order to support mine and I am forever in your debt," he gushed.
His three children were also in attendance and he praised them for being "endlessly inspiring."
"They're an abundance of joy and passion. They inspire me to strengthen my VO2 max and conditioning just to wrangle them and keep up with them, but their ability to live in the moment and to dive into life headfirst, have fun and be joyous is a constant reminder that that's what life's about."
Hemsworth's star is located at 6819 Hollywood Blvd., in front of Ovation Hollywood.
The Australian native currently stars in "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga," which is in theaters now.
