After 41 seasons spanning 43 years, Pat Sajak’s time as host of Wheel of Fortune will come to an end in less than three weeks, NewsNation reports.

Sajak, who announced his retirement nearly a year ago, has already recorded his last episodes. His last show will air June 7, capping a week of shows themed "Thanks for the Memories."

The show’s producers have collected some of Sajak’s funniest moments for those final episodes.

Before hosting one of the most popular game shows in television history, Sajak joined Los Angeles’ KNBC as a weatherman in 1977. Four years later, he was tapped by Merv Griffin, the creator of "Wheel of Fortune," to take over hosting duties.

"The nice thing about working in local TV in LA," Sajak once said, "is that decision makers are watching you every night."

Vanna White will continue to co-host the show, and Ryan Seacrest will take over for Sajak. Seacrest will also remain the host of “American Idol.”

“I am truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak. I can say, along with the rest of America, that it’s been a privilege and pure joy to watch Pat and Vanna on our television screens for an unprecedented 40 years, making us smile every night and feel right at home with them,” Seacrest said in a statement last June.

Nexstar's Jeremy Tanner contributed to this story.
