Dozens of renowned indie artists are coming together to help the Los Angeles area recover from deadly wildfires by releasing a massive compilation album available for one day only.

The new 90-track compilation album features artists such as R.E.M., Faye Webster, Death Cab for Cutie, Modest Mouse and Dr. Dog and will be available for purchase Friday for only 24 hours.

"Good Music to Lift Up Los Angeles" will be sold exclusively on Bandcamp starting at midnight for $20.25, with all net proceeds going to the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.

Bandcamp will also donate 100% of its share of the album’s sales to MusiCares to assist those affected by the wildfires.

The release comes as Los Angeles continues to recover from a series of devastating wildfires that have scorched thousands of acres, displaced residents and left lasting damage to communities. The Eaton Fire, one of the two deadly January blazes in L.A. County, forced evacuations and destroyed homes, including that of Altadena-based artist Cleon Peterson, who created the album’s cover art.

Organizers, who only had a few weeks to put the compilation together, say they are "humbled" by all the well-known and celebrated artists who contributed to the album.

“Music is a healing force and we hope this collection of songs, in addition to raising much-needed recovery funds, provides some solace,” said Jordan Kurland, co-founder of Good Music (which is not to be confused with Kanye West's GOOD Music).

The album features previously unreleased songs, covers and live recordings from artists across multiple genres. Among the contributors are Dawes, whose members lost their homes in the Eaton Fire, along with Cold War Kids, Jeff Tweedy, TV on the Radio, Toro y Moi, Neko Case, Manchester Orchestra, Mac DeMarco and Tenacious D. The Postal Service and Death Cab for Cutie, both fronted by singer-songwriter Ben Gibbard, contribute a live cover of Depeche Mode’s “Enjoy the Silence.”

Good Music has previously organized fundraising compilations for causes such as voting rights and reproductive justice, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars. The full tracklist and album details are available at goodmusiccomp.bandcamp.com.

It's the latest instance of recording artists joining together to raise funds for L.A.'s wildfire recovery, including the wildly successful FireAid concert series, which is expected to raise more than $100 million, and "Super Bloom," another large-scale compilation album available for purchase on Bandcamp.
